Thanks for that tip Tony, I've been getting increasingly confused with the different over-powering colours of the menu bar. What's the point? I've now deselected this option in tabs and once again, have a clean, uncluttered (colour-wise) menu bar. Surely some changes are introduced 'just because...

MB - it is what it is and we have to live with it. Ask phpBB. I'd guess it is either a security thing, a necessary limitation because it couldn't be overcome or deliberate for scrolling as Gail suggests.

Jonah, yes, yes, yes, you have hit exactly the same as me but you explained it so much better. That was what I was trying (unsuccessfully) to explain in my original post. Even The main exec woman at Dropbox after many emails failed to help me. She wanted me to go video Timelines and mail it to her. I...

I have (many) Gmail accounts, all of which play beautifully with Apple Mail. The important factor is that I do not use IMAP; the account is POP. That leaves my Mail "folders": Inbox / Drafts / Sent / Junk / Trash as well as self-created "On My Mac" folders. A friend who does...

Update: Moving the photos to a new/different folder in different place on the computer, makes no difference. When using the folder that contains all the iTunes Album Art, the problem doesn't occur. Seems it's problem with the photo jpegs.

I replaced my smoked detector with a 'smart' model. It appears in Home. I set an automation that if it detects smoke, certain lights will come on. I hope I never need to see if it works. The sound test seemed quiet compared to my old units but the Watch decibel-ometer says it is 85 to 90dB...

The article says you can no longer get Snow Leopard, but you might still be able to get the Server version for $19.99 if you phone Apple directly and ask to be connected to the California office? If they're giving away Lion and ML, it does make you wonder why they don't give away every version of...

Does Safari save passwords that it first doesn't offer to save? Anyway, more passwords are appearing in Safari Prefs>Passwords every day, so the problem is reducing. Strange.

then something is wrong. ...? But if I'm doing an encrypted backup (which I do), all settings, passwords etc are also copied. My backup is a perfect clone of my phone. And since it is about half full (75GB), that is the size of the backup. Lorimer Yes but as Jonah says, it shouldn't be. That...

USB Stick Capacity

Is it new or old and used to show the correct capacity? It's an old one. What does Disk Utility think it is? Disk Utility shows the correct values. A create date of 1970 is decidedly dodgy. And incorrect as well. It seems that it's just my MBP with Mojave that's giving false info. I get the correct...

Using the Brave browser, (it's Chrome without google & without ads), uses 1/2 to 2/3rds the RAM as Safari or Firefox in my tests... but I've never been to Twitter. Compared on heavy... people who bought this also bought these zillion items... sites like Walmart & so many others.
