Hello MacBiter and thanks for the welcome.
déjà vu indeed!
I figure I've bored silly everyone at XYM with my endless questions, so I'd spread the wealth over to here, so to speak. Actually Leewave invited me to join.

[what font did you use for the "W E L C O M E" - that's the way we have to write to fill in forms for Japan; when they ask for Kana wide - we give them Hiragino Kaku Gothic Pro W3 and it works. Looks like you did Helvetica with spaces?]

Hi Leewave!
You found me!
Thanks for bringing me here.
I was certain you'd say hello in the welcome thread, but alas...

Hi Mrs H, and a warm hello from me too - Glad you made it over, I'm sure you'll find a lot of friendly folk here and useful information - all it takes is a question!

W E L C O M E - in the default forum font, (With Spaces)!
It's the only font available, as far as I know, unless you choose the
Code:
code button

When you make a reply, by default you get the quick reply box which doesn't have all those buttons and extras. If you want to use any colours or font sizes or smileys or anything like that, you should use the full text editor - which is available at the click of a button!

This forum does not host any images, unlike XYM, so if you want to post pictures you'll have to find an external online host and paste the image link in, select it and press the Img button to add image tags.

If you want to see how someone else has constructed a reply, press the Quote button which then shows you the behind-the-scenes BBcode that has been added (now inside quote tags).

Thanks for your greeting, Leewave! I kind of forced you into it, didn't I?

I asked about the font because, as I said, it looks very like that strange font the Japanese want for certain forms, all caps with spaces between letters which I have been able to satisfy by using Hiragino Kaku Gothic Pro W3. On some Japanese forms - esp hotel reservations - if you don't do it in the font they want, you can't get to the next page which is to say, you can't complete the reservation.

I'm a colour and text formatting kinda writer; I always go to the post reply window that allows me to do same.

Which does?
As you well know, I have to date no exterior accounts for pix, such as flickr or drop...
On XYM when I've attached a photo it always shows up only as a thumbnail as opposed to those gorgeous photos that others post from their exterior links.

I bemoaned elsewhere here the lack of an option for multiple quotes, so I'll continue to increase my post number by answering each reply individually.

Thank you BDA.

Have no fear, I will not disappear from XYM - I am just spreading the wealth. Plus, I feared I was boring or bothering you guys with my stupid (déjà vu-y/repetitive?) questions.

This little welcoming interchange got lost in the shuffle with the image posting/ photo discussion intruding here - I brought it back as best as I could.
Thanks James for sorting out the mess.

Thanks Klaus for the greeting.
It's been ages, hasn't it??!!

Now I know where to find you to wish Lily a happy birthday next year!

OK - all three then!
But Lily has a special place in my heart: I remember all my "yet?" "yet?" questions over the Apple forum when her mother was in labour.

It's Verdana Regular at 13 point. There is no option to change the font used in the forum. I found out what it was by copying and pasting a snippet into TextEdit.

The font used for Code text is the monospaced Courier New Regular at 11 point. And it's coloured green :)
