I noticed the other day that my oldest TM backup is 7 July. Everything before that has vanished. Anybody else had this? Why should it happen?

In Preferences do you not have 'Notify after oldest backups deleted' checked?

I suspect TM needed the space.

Dave, You know, don't you, that TM deletes old back-ups as needed?
Is there anything else strange about the situation?

I don't get it: Why are you saying that "everything disappeared"? You wrote, "I noticed the other day that my oldest TM backup is 7 July."
These are mutually contradicting statements.
I suggest that you do nothing; continue to use TM as usual.

Well, you did write: "Yes, but it seems strange that everything disappeared."
That was the basis for my post.
