I've not seen that site before. I see Waltr 2 is about half price for a few more days.

The reason I don't like paying in $ is that in the past I've been stung for currency exchange fees. My current credit card allows a certain amount of fee free transactions.

I didn't realize that you were referring only to paying in dollars.
I read it as not wanting to pay - period.

Ah I see :D I pay for good stuff that I actually need. There is no pirated software here. I just baulk at general high prices for Mac stuff over Windows equivalents. 50% off seems like a deal.

Waltr 2 bought for half price and activated. Cheers. I'll try shifting some files later. I'll get the bill later :D

There shouldn't be any. Nationwide will get a stern email if there are :) It certainly is fast uploading MP3s, wired or wireless. Easier than iTunes, as you have said several times.

Perhaps you noticed its other features.

It will - for example - transform any video into an iDevice format; just drop it and it's done. Immediately.
Use it for iBook-formatted files, .PDFs...
It's a good app.

Oh, really? Is that to be taken literally?
I don't run the latest version of that - and won't be. As many of you don't, also.

Really???

By the way, Waltr 2 came in at £14.93 converted from $19.99 with no fees, as expected.

Had a look at that Waltr 2 and it looks useful - however, I can't find a mention there, but can it work in reverse? I'd like to shift some magazines off the iPad and on to the iMac and haven't found a simple way of doing it...

I don't think that Waltr 2 can do the reverse thingie - but how about the latest version of iOS?
I haven't upgraded yet. Perhaps that function has become a part of it.

If they are Zinio/RB Digital/other reader then it is unlikely you can save the files out. What are you hoping to download and what from? Have you ever achieved this?

Just FYI, managed to get my Ringtones back onto he phone by just dragging and dropping.

Found my Tones in the iTunes Media folder:

Connected my iPhone, and selected 'Tones'. I then selected all and dragged them on to 'Tones:

Have synced the phone a couple of times to see if it removes them which it doesn't, and all tones are available through the sounds option in the iPhones settings i'm pleased to say.

Might help a few out if you're disappeared as mine did!

Sorry!!! It was MacFormat which can only be downloaded into an i device (iPad in my case); The mag people did give me a how-to but (IIRC) it seemed a convoluted method involving getting a code to an Android device (I don't even KNOW anyone with one, let alone have access to it), so gave up the idea. That was a while back so I may investigate again in case things have changed.

Daniel: Glad you got your ringtones back. My OH had no problem with hers after updating from 10.x to 11.0.1. Hers include the F1 bit of Fleetwood Mac's The Chain, and the Happy Song for people she likes to hear from :D

I was a little disappointed-but after the updating my ringtones remained, so I was pleased with that. However, with my recent battery issues I decided to go for a restore and re-install, which coincidentally took them off! I searched online to see if I could find a fix, but the more I looked the more complex the answers seemed to be. Then I just thought, why not drag 'n drop. So I did. And it worked. My kind of solution!

Cracking song that-i do enjoy a bit of Fleetwood Mac (admittedly the more commercial songs), heard them a lot when I was growing up, and my parents regularly had 'Rumours' playing on the record player when I was little. Good times!
