Further to my earlier message, I've now found that my previous method of trashing emails, doesn't always work. Another way I've found, which seems to work all the time is to take all accounts offline, then trash the messages, then bring all accounts back on-line again. I note that the moderator does not have a similar problem. Maybe it's something to do with my system, Model Name: iMac Model Identifier: iMac13,2 Processor Name: Intel Core i5 Processor Speed: 2.9 GHz Number of Processors: 1 Total Number of Cores: 4 L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB L3 Cache: 6 MB Memory: 8 GB Boot ROM Version: IM131.010F.B00 SMC Version (system): 2.11f14 If anyone has a similar problem, hope this helps. |

Password vulnerability in High Sierra on APFS volumes. Bit of a silly error this one! https://www.macrumors.com/2017/10/05/ma ... erability/ |

There is a 10.13 Supplemental update. I mention it because it did not show up automatically on my Macs: I had to go looking for updates and there it was. It took about twenty minutes to apply. |

One thing I have noticed is that sometimes the screen of my MBPr now does not always wake first time when I tap the touchpad or mouse button. The keyboard lights up but the screen is reluctant for over half the occasions and needs a second or third nudge. Sometimes it takes up to five seconds to come on. Not a showstopper but irksome. |

What happens to pre HS Time Machine backups. Can you restore them to the APFS SSD directly. I have several old Time Machine Pages and Numbers document backups on external HD, don't think I will never need them but just in case! |

I'm sure everyone has heard about the newly published 'root' vulnerability in HS. I'll post in case someone is living media free. |

I had to install the 2017-001 security update again this morning. Both installations show in update history so it has to be a real thing. |

This morning, 10.13.2 and an iTunes combined update onto my Macs. It took a while to do each. |

I'm now on O.S. 10.13.1 Has anyone else found that in Photos, the scroll bar on the RHS is extremely parsimonious in operation. After scrolling up or down (forward or back in time), the marker disappears after less than half a second. This makes it impossible to click within the scroll bar, because it's disappeared. I find that clicking in the bar is the easiest way to scroll large distances with accuracy although the mouse scroll wheel is the fastest. But why has Apple effectively removed the sensible and convenient click option from the scroll bar? Lorimer |
