No problems on the MacBook Pro and it fixed a TM glitch on the mini. It takes a long time to install as it converts the hard drive to APFS on the fly. I had a clone and Time Machine backups before I did it but it went smoothly on both machines.

I came from a Windows background and my mind says to take all the updates you can for security reasons. That is why I adopt early. I know the Mac mindset thinks differently (ba-doom tsh).

Thanks again for that loughor. Before I install I'll obviously do a TM backup and a CCC 5 bootable clone of Sierra, talking of which I was reading Mike Bombich's blog to see what was happening at CCC headquarters. To say it was illuminating is an understatement. The man has certainly checked his product out to make sure it works with HS. Fact and figure kept tumbling out. Read his blog here https://bombich.com/blog very reassuring and interesting. Thanks Mike and his team.

Doesn't that apply only to SSD's and not HDD or fusion drives?

Well yeah, true, but I have a SSD in the MBPr and sat and watched it work with the TV on. No SSD in the mini, but I just started that and left it run so as far as I was concerned, it took a while.
