Once again, my Mavericks version of the App Store has stopped functioning for downloads, so I booted into my Sierra partition to get the free Compare Folders.

While there, I noticed there was an update to iTunes, and that I'd not upgraded Sierra to 10.12.6 so I did those. I also saw a big splash screen at the top for High Sierra with an Upgrade button.

However, in the listed Updates being offered was El Capitan! I've no idea how that's even possible, but I thought it might give you a laugh. (Needless to say, I haven't 'upgraded' Sierra to ElC).

You would have a hard job upgrading Sierra to El Capitan seeing as it came before Sierra.

Exactly my point Jonah. The question is, what on earth was it doing being offered as an "Update" in Sierra's App Store?
