It took me 50 minutes to find the update. Eventually I searched and it linked to an Apple page that linked to the App Store page. I'm sure you lot will not have that trouble. I'm sure it would have shown up after the initial surge.

It took about 40 minutes to download, install and set up (MBPr). I'm trying 'dark mode' for now. It looks like I'll need to tidy up some new stuff but not a chore.

It all seems fine so far, but what does 10 minutes show? :P

I'll do the mini tomorrow.

--edit-- Nahh 'light mode' suits what I am used to. That's for me for now.

I see in System Report that some of the system apps are still 32-bit. I just checked as this is supposed to be the last OS that supports any kind of 32-bit so they might have sorted their code.

It's showing in the App Store for me available for download. That's on a 2011 MBP, tech specs for Mojave say 2012 MBP or newer.

I suppose it would detect the hardware and stop the process.

I wasn't keen on the 'show recent apps' on the Dock but easily flipped off - er - no, I'll rephrase that, deselected in System Preferences.

Sierra is the last OS that will run in Parallels on my machine, but I hardly ever need to fire it up - I more often need to go back to the Snow Leopard VM. I think I'll give Mo' Harvey a miss for now.

I put it on my 2012 MacBook Air & am spending the rest of the day going back to High Sierra. Too many of the add-ons I rely on don't work. They probably will in the not-too-distant future.

Seems to prove the age-old wisdom - "never install a point zero version..."

I just did my mini. It took ages.

Here's a bummer - "Carbon Copy Cloner cannot be opened because of a problem". The problem is that it is incompatible with 10.14. OK, so it won't open. Which means it can't check for updates. Fortunately you can get v5.1.5 from Bombich and that installs over the old one and works. Update CCC before Mojave to avoid hitches.

Time Machine is creaking on the first backup... still.

--edit-- On the matter of CCC - the new Ma Hovey security features prevent full access to all files. After it finishes, with error, it will guide you through rectifying the situation.

I'm on Mavericks and very happy! Everything works that I need! No Grey Sidebar! No cryptic crap I don't need
Make a clone before you update, (if still technically possible) - my useless advice of the day

If fed up, cheer yourself up with some of my horrible (if not too depressing) technically brilliant music

Myself, I made sure there was a clone in the metaphorical bag before I did anything, but I'm OK with it so far. It looks, works and smells the same as far as I'm concerned, not having seen an Apple OS before Yos to get used to, I've not gotten attached to anything peculiar (in the unique sense, not unusual or quirky) to them.

Now I remember what made me erase & reinstall High Sierra - Mojave won't let me install iTunes 12.6.5 & I've hear Pages 4.3/Work '09 doesn't work either. I didn't give Pages a try, just gave up with the iTunes issue.

I had Server running on my mini. It wasn't doing that much to be honest, but I paid for it so by crikey, I will run it. The current Store version will not run under Mojave, even tough the stated specs say it will. I deleted it then tried to re-get it but am not permitted for compatibility reasons. I have done some searching in Support and it seems the next version 5.7 which will run is still in beta. I can wait but a bad move by Apple. Anyone who did use it, even in the deprecated state, will be miffed at having to revert.

Me too. :D

I can also go to Snow Leopard and Sierra anytime I need or want. Which isn't very often TBH.

Clicked on the VDGG link, and enjoyed the first 10 minutes .. but another hour?? :o (Kids today eh. No attention span.)

Patience pays sometimes. It gets better

The first two tracks are from their first album. The next are from their second, third and sixth albums. 69-76

The first seven albums contain their best material IMO. Fill the room

If it goes on too long for you try Talking Heads

Leave KC alone unless you have a strong stomach for odd time signatures
