Macbook 2010 - crashing and dying so new SSD HD bought.
Fitted
GUID Partitioned (1 partition). Named Hard Disk.

Can get to Utilities and can sometimes change Startup Disk to whatever I need.

USB Maveriks Install OS - says it is "corrupted" - "The copy of the Install OS X Mavericks application can't be verified. It may have been corrupted or tampered with during downloading".
Other USB startup - Yosemite - says the same
Official CD Snow Leopard Install OS - crashes - black screen and Chinese
Official CD Tiger - ditto
Official CD Leopard - ditto

Tried an external CD drive - same thing - just in case it was optical disk drive

What am I doing wrong?

Looking on other forums, I have now reset the time (I think). Trying again.

Can you try an install over the internet? Tiger and Leopard won't work on that machine, but Snow Leopard should starting at 10.6.3, is that the version you have?

Thank you - Anndra. Your help is appreciated.

The problem is solved. I am sure I was doing something wrong and I will never know what.

Anywho, we did a Carbon Copy Clone of the hard disk we wanted to swap out onto the SSD, put in the SSD one and then switched it back on.

Success!
