Why does the screen saver in High Sierra not work? It's always worked with earlier versions of the OS.

Nothing in the screen saver preferences has changed.

Just had to restart during a software update and now it works.

Strange, this morning it's not working again. It worked OK all evening till sent to sleep by closing screen. Now not working again. Any ideas?

Does Activity Monitor: Energy: Preventing Sleep: column show any apps with a "Yes"?

Are you using Bluetooth? Even if you are, just as a test, can you turn it OFF for a while?

Checked Activity Monitor: Energy: Preventing Sleep, no apps showing Yes. Don't use bluetooth on this machine. Looked up in Apple support and no recent posts regarding this problem.
