I imported a password protected pdf into iBooks on my iPad. I 'unlocked' it and all works fine but it doesn't seem to 'lock' again! It's obviously locked for security but if I just exit the page or the app and then go back to iBooks, there is the pdf open and unlocked.
Is there something I'm missing that makes the file lock again after use?

You could try saving the document before exiting Adobe. You may be prompted to overwrite the existing file and unless you want another copy of the same document, choose yes.

I would guess that iBooks is still open in the background when you exited it and so it goes back to where it was with the file unlocked when you open it again. Have you tried killing the app before re-opening it. Either from the quick change bar or through SBSettings if you have it installed.

Security settings on PDFs are only applied after saving, at least on OSX. What happens on iOS I'm not sure.
