Downloaded Apple Remote 2.4 and it then provides a Passcode for the iPad 2 to access the iTunes library and works OK.

It also provided a passcode for for th iPhone, this did not work with my 3GS when i went into iTunes there was no provision to enter the code.

The "Requirements" in the app just say iPhone and make no reference to the different models .
