I sync my mobile devices (iPhone 4s and iPad2) quite regularly through iTunes, but before I hook them up, I check whether there are any updates for the apps, etc. I had quite a few this morning, but two of them gave an error message I have never come across before. I have combined them in my screenshot:
Now, these two happen to be two I don't really use, but one cannot install them, or de-install them, as they belong to the standard set. But it's quite strange I'm getting this error.

I had a problem with Podcasts similar to that. There is a thread here somewhere. It turned out to be that I had set a restriction on Podcasts. It might be that you have restrictions on these. I know you know where that is, but for completeness: Settings > General > Restrictions

Thanks, loughor. Alas no restrictions in action.

I got the same error when updating apps in iTunes today. I checked for updates on my iPad mini & those updates are not listed. So it does seem that they are for iOS 10. That they are appearing in iTunes now, long before the release of iOS 10 is probably a bug.
