I'm a simple kind of chap, and have used iTunes happily for years to transfer a music playlist to my iPhone to listen to when out and about, usually on a train.
The most recent Music upgrade sucks. It really does.
I don't want to know what my recent purchases are. I don't want any of the other 'wonderful opportunities' to access music. I just want to play my synchronised playlist.
Are there any simple music players that will just play a playlist sync'd from my Mac???

I assume you are talking about Apple Music within the Music app. If so, turn off Apple Music in Settings ▸ Music ▸ Show Apple Music ▸ OFF. Then open Music and tap "Edit" in top right corner and choose your option. In my Music app, all I have showing is my Library and then underneath that Artists and Albums.

You won't get rid of 'Recently added' from what I can see. It's a feature that Apple think we permanently want.
I would be surprised if there is a Music app available in the App Store. Apple aren't keen on people duplicating the functionality of some of their core apps, especially Music with Apple Music being something they are keen for us all to subscribe to. I'm actually surprised they let you hide it in the Music app and iTunes.

Neil, Great. So is this forum. I don't mind paying 99p - especially with today's exchange rate When you get to the App Store, click on " more" under "What's New in Version 3.7.3". A treat.

"If you're talking about the in app purchases.."I wasn't. Read the "more" section as advised; it's very cute. "....99p is not a big deal is it ?" Well, I basically said that it wasn't: "I don't mind paying 99p - especially with today's exchange rate" = joke

Neil, How about an alternative to the Photos app?
Photos creates albums, based on I-don't-know-what. I hate it. Any recommendation?
