I think the point is that this is likely to be a very useful thread to have for the future. So far up until now nobody has suggested it, the fact that you did and we now have one, and it is now sticky (so it will remain at the top of the list where it will be easily found) is a good outcome!
As you say there are many threads which offer useful information, well I guess most would agree that having one thread to collate handy but perhaps obscure information about iOS is a positive thing.

Accessibility has loads of features and not just ones that are useful for the accessibility challenged. http://www.imore.com/accessibility-iphone-ipadI have trouble getting the Home button to recognize my touch. I went to Settings>General>Accessibility> AssistiveTouch. Now I have a square on screen button on every screen. I can tap that to get to Notification Center, Device, Control Center, HOME!, Siri (the default options) and another button for Custom options. Much easier for us to go this route.

SOS - Emergency call Whilst searching for how to set up ICE contacts, and Medical IDs for 2, and how to use the emergency call button [when traveling] I came across this: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/2 ... n-emergen/I suspect you all know about it already ( Telegraph, dated November 2016) but I figured it was interesting enough to post. Now I'm trying to figure out how to make that emergency button show on lock screen and wondering if it will work in Japan with a non-working in Japan US SIM card.

There's a very wonderful, simple app for getting world-wide emergency calls made: Emergency Call.
"I suspect you all know about it already" Your suspicions are probably unfounded. Just post.

I can't find the switch to turn it on anywhere in Settings.

Been informed on Twitter that it's only available in India at present.

Not on mine either with 10.2.1.
The only references that I can find for it are back in late 2016 and refer to 10.2 beta. Perhaps it never made it through.

I couldn't find the SOS option in settings either. So I'm guessing the Hit the Wake button five times to dial SOS is not an option either.
Has anyone ever had to use the Emergency call option in another country besides your home country?
I assume it works - which is to say, I hope it works in Japan though I hope I never have to use it. Looks like it should even work if roaming or a call plan for the other country is not an option (I'm sure I saw somewhere that the emergency transmitter dialer doesn't even need a SIM card to function)

Thanks, Ramaprem. Sorry I missed it when you first mentioned it. I found this, but not free - but inexpensive - I'll pursue further: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/emergen ... 42703?mt=8

It's the same app - with a couple of features that the free version does not have.

Thanks for the updated info, Ramaprem. I just downloaded the FREE version which I didn't find before.
