Have any of you used apps from Readdle? (particularly Documents 5 and Scanner)?

Documents 5 looks promising to me for viewing offline the .doc train schedules with attachments (created in Word) and city information with photos (in TextEdit .rtfd) that I'd like to get onto the phone and be able to access if we don't have internet connection whilst traveling.

We are heading back to Japan and will have a rented pocket WiFi, but in the mountainous regions we still may not be able to connect. I know I can put all the documents into iCloud, but from there I can't access them without something.

.rtfd documents worked OK if I copied them into Notes, but not the .doc paste-ups, which lost the attachments.

Dropbox allowed me to see the .doc -but veryvery tiny, but the .rtfd documents aren't supported.

I'd like to find somewhere to put both sorts together along with a file system of sorts to be able to find them!

I've used their Scanner Pro app for a number of years to digitise my company records (up to closing last April) and still use it to "file" things rather than having to store physical media (paper mostly).

Recommended!

I have downloaded Doc 5 and am about to test it and was wondering if I should get the scanner and pdf viewer as long as I'm at it.

I'm just learning how to use the iPhone so have never linked an app to Dropbox. The company looks very good so I'm going to go ahead and do this - a first for me. They were very responsive when I emailed them with a quickie question.

Did you know that they are based in Odessa, Ukraine? I hope they stay safe.

Docs 5 worked fine with the .doc documents with train schedules in .pdf format embedded.

It did not do so well with the .rtfd documents with photos and text. The text wandered under the photos even though it didn't look that way in the original.
Notes - the built in app - worked fine for that.

Evernote has also been recommended - but I don't think it does what I want it to, either.

I think that you do not need both.
Get the scanner app; very nifty. I have the pro version.

You can get the free Adobe Acrobat Reader to view PDFs if need be.
But won't your Documents 5 app view/read PDFs?
