I suspect I am missing something obvious. I have not found any helpful results by searching. Not even a step by step Noddy guide. If someone knows where one is, I'd be more than happy to be put straight.

I want to look through books to download from the store using iBooks on my iPad but all I can see are what I had downloaded in the past and items in iCloud (when I flip the switch on that category drop down menu). I can not see how to get into the store. It is the same on my iPhone. In macOS, iBooks has a Store button top left, which has allowed me to see what I want. There is no such button in iOS. I don't want to buy anything but I needed to browse.

I have been through Settings one by one and not found anything obvious. I have signed out/in to iThisandthat and restarted the iPad. Rather than bang my head on the table (not enough hair to pull out), does anyone know what I might doing wrong? I know it used to work.

Thanks.

There should be a bar across the bottom with five icons: My Books, Featured, Top Charts, Top Authors, Purchased.

Tap on any of the middle three to browse the store.

Aha you gave me the nudge I needed to get a new search term. Navigation Bar. I straight away found another person with the same problem. Because I couldn't think what word was missing, I hadn't used the right term.... and had forgotten about Restrictions in Settings

Settings > General > Restrictions > iBooks Store was set 'off'.

Sorted and repeated thanks.

So you had denied access to the Store then. Never even thought about that as I have never switched it on in 8 years of owning iOS devices.

I did use iBooks when I got the iPad just to see what was available. I don't use it as an app so must have just flipped it when setting general Restrictions after it got moved to the Apple Junk folder.
