I know James absolutely loves FaceID. He has told me it is much better than TouchID.

Yep, its really good.
Losing the home button is NOT an issue. Seems totally natural to me now and after a couple of hours with it.
And boy is it quick - VERY fast device in use.
Face ID is great, rarely need the passcode, feels like you never unlock it or need a passcode for apps etc.
