Post subject: | Misbehaving iPhone |
My iPhone 5s 16GB, iOS 11.0.2 is playing up in a very odd manner. When it misbehaves it types it own text in messages, randomly uses apps, won't swipe apps to disconnect them, won't slide to turn off, won't turn off when home and top bottom are held down. Eventually this will turn it off, but for a while, the Apple logo keeps appearing before it finally shuts off. Sometimes it cures itself with a rest, other times it needs to be restored. Then it behaves normally for a while. What on earth is going on? I have not yet restored it to factory settings. Might that help? All the best, Art |

To do a hard reset (power and home buttons) you need to hold both buttons down for at least 10 seconds until you see the screen go black and the Apple logo appear. Try this first. If this doesn't work then you will need to restore it by wiping it and re-installing the OS. I have heard of this problem and it was cured by restoring. |

Restoring it to factory settings and then setting it up as a new iPhone (rather than restoring it from a backup) MIGHT help. That's what an Apple Store has tried with my girlfriend's iPhone that was having scrolling issues. |

I do hard resets all the time. Sometimes they take a very long time. I will try a factory restore. Art |

Sounds more like a fault in the digitiser - only a new display assembly will fix that. If issue persists after a restore then that'll be the issue. |

Hello, I did restore it to factory settings and it has begun to misbehave again. Where would you recommend I go to buy a refurbished 6? Art |
