Perhaps your battery, in the background, has been trying to repair the screen. :P

Yeh!

Now my phone has very helpfully turned low power mode OFF for me, I guess because it's on charge and nearly full. What a stupid phone!

That’s how low power mode is designed to work. It tells you it will switch off automatically when the battery has been charged underneath the toggle switch.

My old battery was at 80% health and replacing it has worked wonders.

I guess there’s no need to split hairs or make a fuss about it, but it doesn’t actually say that. What it actually does say is -

Quote:
Low power mode temporarily reduces power consumption until you can fully charge your iPhone. When this is on, mail fetch, background app refresh, automatic downloads and some visual effects are reduced or turned off.

It does not say that it will switch off automatically. However I understand that is the way it is designed and that is what it will do. Now I know! Thanks!

But now that I'm keeping it on low power mode it does seem to be behaving fine :-) so that's what I shall use from now on for most of the time. I wonder which iOS this came in with?
