Anyone know how to create a Home-screen icon that, when tapped, opens a specific photo/pdf? I know how to create such an icon for opening a website, but am not able to do the equivalent for a photo.

If you locate the picture in Finder, right click > Make Alias it will create an alias in the same folder. Drag that to the desktop. It should work. I tested it quickly with a .jpg.

Your phone has (a) Finder? This topic is in the "iTopic" forum.

I have found a somewhat useful workaround: I created a shortcut which opens the Camera Roll. If I keep this specific photo always there, it will be just two taps away.
Close, but no cigar. Still looking for a one-tap.

Oh I missed the subtle use of the "home" bit. My brain swapped in Desktop. I'm old. I want free things.
Seriously, sorry about that.

Thanks for the help.
The video (Paw) didn't work for me, and the widget-maker (loughor) also did not. But I found another widget-maker that did work: "Photowidget". It creates a "two-tapper", which I can live with.
I came up with a one-tapper, however. I have a great app: "Documents". If my photo was the last doc viewed, then simply tapping on the Documents icon opens that photo.
