Help!
I have just been offered a 16Gb iPhone 6 NOS from Carphone Warehouse, with a 1 year guarantee.
So far so good. I want the phone to make calls and send texts, which it does well. However I like the idea that I can listen to the BBC Radio player and the iPlayer and this is where everything goes pear-shaped.
I use numbers in all my passwords and my BBC account is no exception. The first number off my password is a "1", right on the left edge of the screen, which is proving impossible to press/activate, it appears like a dead unresponsive key.
I am a bit miffed as I have other passwords that begin with a 1 also.
Are there alternative keyboards available from the app store?
Being hosptal/housebound I can't zoom off and sort out this issue with Carphone Warehouse.

If it is a faulty "key" (or touch screen) then CPW should fix or replace the iPhone. Getting another key layout is a workaround and does not fix the problem which may come back to bite another time in another app. If you are in the first thirty days since purchase, you have the strongest rights. I realise you can't zoom out but this is the best course of action.

Cheers. Thanks a lot. Have tried Gboard but the problem remains. Will ask better half to tackle CPW.

Does holding the phone in landscape mode help?
Not all interfaces allow for the keyboard to change in landscape.

No, unfortunately not. The BBC iPlayer remains defiantly in portrait mode when signing in.

Could you have magnification turned on, which is elongating the keyboard? Otherwise, sounds like a defect. Change your passwords to begin with "2"?   (Standard advice is to change passwords regularly  )

Thanks for the suggestions Gail. It was indeed in magnification mode but alas the 123 button on the left plus the "q" and the "a" buttons don't respond despite toggling back to normal mode, but the shift button does.
Anyway the dealer is providing a replacement phone on Monday.
