Just finished Interstellar - I guess it had something to say but I wouldn't know thanks to the backround noise throughout. The robot was a fun design though.
I got WAY more jollies out of This Island Earth on the Horror chanel. The miniature builders and artists did great things in those days.

Jumanji: The Next Level.
You need to have seen the one before to get the references, but if you liked that, you should like this.

The Last Stand.
Starring Arnie S. One of his with guns, stunts, bad guys, fast cars (that can do 350 miles at 100mph without refuelling), shootouts and some lighter moments. Good if you just want to pass some time with an action movie.

if you like war films and action then 12 Strong was an entertaining shooting fest. Based on real events where U.S Special Forces rode horses into battle with the Taliban in Afghanistan.

And if you want to watch a couple of excellent TV series
Band of Brothers The Pacific
On a side note, I am currently reading 'Beyond Band of Brothers' by Major Dick Winters and recently finished 'With The Old Breed' by E.B. Sledge. Both excellent books about World War II.

I finally got round to the Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker film. Sigh. Even suspending belief for sci-fi purposes, there are so many things that could not have happened as portrayed. The plot was easily predictable in general terms. Still, done now. Having seen the previous films, I had to finalise matters but I'm sure The Disney Company will want to keep the cash coming in for profit rather than artistic or entertainment reasons.

Pretty sure the plots of all Star Wars films are fairly predictable. I have really enjoyed the latest three films but I don't worry about alleged plot holes and suchlike and just enjoy them for what they are supposed to be - entertainment.
I actually think the best of the new films is Rogue One.

Just heard the Bond theme for "No Time To Die", a song about a broken relationship. I had to look up the lyrics to find that out. Alternative title: "Yet Another Dirge To Fall Asleep To".
Bond films have been mostly very enjoyable even if the songs were a bit hit or miss, but to me it seems in more recent times there's been a trend of forgettable and often incomprehesible theme songs. I wish Eon would return to the sweeping, wonderfully bloated good stuff and get some excitement in there. Wings, Bassey, Duran Duran, Lulu...

Best Bond theme is “You know my name” by the late Chris Cornell from Casino Royale.

Since my post further up, I have now watched 1917 and Midway (2019 version). Enjoyed both, 1917 most of all. Midway was a bit too much of a “Hollywood War film” but I suspended disbelief and enjoyed it nonetheless.
I have since acquired the 1976 version of Midway which stars Charlton Heston and Henry Fonda amongst others. I’ve also got Tora! Tora! Tora! waiting to be be watched.
