Inflation has killed the joke in 1980s' sitcom Just Good Friends where 'lovable rogue' Vince is a mobile ice-cream seller. An American tourist buys a 99 cone, gives him a pound note and gets one penny change. It was funny then because a 99 would have cost only about 25p...

And I've just re-read that dinosaur link. It's not often I find something so funny I have to wipe the tears from my eyes... a briliant piece of descriptive writing :tu:

Not sure what Google Maps is on, but it's certainly not the "right lines". I've used Eurostar to Brussels and I'm fairly certain we didn't pass the Old Bailey and cross the river near St Paul's... :D

I'm also pretty sure we never did this big loop through Brixton, Hammersmith and Shepherds Bush as in Sunday's offering ...

You probably saw this on the news. Maybe not strictly stupid, but what the heck. You may laugh - he didn't die.

Quote:
An angler had to be resuscitated after accidentally swallowing a fish he had just caught.

The man was kissing the Dover sole in celebration of his catch when the six-inch (14cm) fish wriggled out of his hand and jumped into his mouth, a friend said.

The 28-year-old stopped breathing and suffered a cardiac arrest at the scene on Boscombe Pier, Bournemouth.
