Listening - and watching... Carly Simon on BBC Four's Classic Albums show from last night. Fascinating to see just how the No Secrets album (recorded in London) evolved, hearing not only from Carly but from musicians, producer and engineer among others. If you're interested in both the emotions and technicalities involved, it's worth catching . I'm no musician but I do love listening and find myself fascinated by the background stories and how it all comes together...

An Apple Music playlist via the HomePod. It is called "Dad Rock Essentials". While I am a dad and am in receipt of the State pension, it still feels wrong and uncomfortable to have the dad bit included. If only my knees felt as young as my mind does.

Back in 2004 and just two years off pension age, I was at my son's wedding reception when he came out with a classic line as he enjoyed the latest of many pints: "Dad, I'm so happy I don't care if you DO dance..." before he staggered off without spilling a drop. Well, it made us laugh, anyway
