A British Airways Airbus A380 set off from Hong Kong on May 5 with 22 round wheels -- but apparently touched down at London Heathrow with a bizarre square-shaped tire.

Yeah, 's obvvious innit? Tire-tyre deflated at altitude with a slow leak, increasing pressure on descent flattened it.

No, I have never seen that before. I've seen a lot of tyres and this is a very unusual event. But it must've been a slow leak obviously, and the tyre held on the rim during descent without leaking much.

The maintenance crew and others involved also reported that this has never been seen before - by any of them. But then, they've never even seen a tire. So it's to be expected.
