I rowed that course 45 years ago in an eight. I think the now Lord Colin Moynihan was the cox. OMG was it really that long ago? I'm old. Anyway I remember it being very tough. So in memory of that experience seared into me (I ached everywhere) I watch every year that I can.

I used to have to, now and again, go to Monmouth for work. The office was in Hadnock Road, just by that school's sports club, iirc.

That was the secondary school I think on Hadnock Road. Monmouth School was in the town, you pass it on the A40 by the Wye bridge and the sports hall was on site.

Ah, I see, so it is. Well I suppose it was 40 odd years since I was at the school. However I go to Monmouth regularly - so much for my powers of observation. Perhaps I'm blanking out memories of dreadful school dinners.
