Illuminated River” is a plan to light the span of the Thames river from the Albert Bridge in the west to Tower Bridge in the east.

Your comments, please.

I sometimes wonder who pays for such things. Not me as a taxpayer, I hope.

Sounds like a good way to make all those Londoners less grumpy.

Would it cost more just to paint it beige

Hmm - as long as only London council tax payers have to cough up. Unfortunately it will be considered a "national" benefit(!) and we'll all have to pay.

Anyway, I need to be convinced it's not a late April Fool joke :)

Likewise - my grandchildren stopped calling me Grandpa - now I'm Grumpy :D

It's easy to love them, though - they live 40 miles away...

Most, if not all, of those bridges have lights and are lit up anyway - so I don't have a problem with it.

Depends on who 'we' are. I refuse (living in Somerset) to pay a single penny towards this entirely unnecessary luxury for the Metro-elite!
