How long do I need to wait for an item to be collected After I've had a refund. I remember seeing that if a company doesn't collect its goods after a while you can keep them. Anyone know how long this is. Gary. |

Thanks Highmac, done a little google into TORTS. All that legal jargon, thank god I don't need to read that everyday lol. The eBay seller seems to have disappeared as his last feedback was left over 4 weeks ago and his eBay shop is now empty. Next time I'm at the father in laws I'll email this guy telling him what I will do if he doesn't respond within 14 days. Gary. |

Been told from CAB to send a letter asking for the item to be collected via recorded delivery then do the same a week later. If no reply after 4 weeks, the item is his to keep. Gary |

Last year, at work we ordered a laptop direct from the manufacturer's website, and we had issues with the wireless card not connecting to our network, they sent an engineer out to fix it but to no avail. A replacement new laptop was sent out and they said they'd collect the faulty laptop - 9 months later, despite repeated emails asking them to pick it up, we heard nothing back. Coincidentally, our router went pop in this timeframe so we replaced that and purely by accident discovered the "faulty" laptop had no issues connecting wirelessly with the new router. So, we kept the "faulty" laptop and it's been fine ever since - considering it's a high -end £1700 laptop, you'd think they'd make sure they get it back, and it's not like we didn't try to return it. Still, it's their loss and we got a free laptop! |
