To all my blokes and blokettes......

Sorry to hear of the problems that have occurred in your country. Hope all of you are ok. I've read where the people were pissed at Theresa May for not talking to the victims of the horrible fire.

Your friend from across the pond...

Thanks for your kind words. I live in Manchester and was also in London last month so it does hit home pretty hard.

It's a strange world we're living in, but despite the recent atrocities it's reassuring to see there are many good people out there who are willing to offer help to those in need. I take a lot of pride, and hope, in that thought.

The terrorists will not win. We are stronger than them.

Very well said. These terrorists must be stopped, but they are so sneaky that it's hard to do it I think.

Just like when I was in Vietnam, you didn't know the Vietnamese from the Viet Cong. They would work on the base during the day and attack you at night.

I remember one time that we used to get our haircuts at the 3rd Marine Division Base. The barber's were Vietnamese and nice men. They also used to shave us when we wanted it. Then TET came in 1968. After it was over we went back to the same barber's and one was missing. We asked "Where's Tom?" the other guy said "Tom dead, he was VC". What a shock we had

The cause of the fire was, allegedly, a refrigerator.
A video shows a comparison of two units burning. In the UK, a plastic backing meets safety requirements - it seems.
