Keep up-to-date with the storm's progress. Open in about 10 tabs and refresh a new tab every few hours. It looks like it's gonna skirt to the west north west away from Puerto Rico now. Perhaps it will miss most of Haiti but it looks like Florida and the Bahamas are going to get pasted. Surface wind The 850 millibar level (about 5000 feet) Click on a place to show the current wind. It's almost flat calm in the middle of Haiti right now, the green circle is placed there Click at the bottom left on the earth button to change the view, you can select various altitudes in terms of millibar pressure level and many other things You can use the control buttons to see where it has been and where it's likely to go! Double-click to zoom in, shift double-click to zoom out. Drag the globe to change position - it's quite a stunning display, really. From |

Thanks for that, Leewave. Of particular interest to me at present as son and family are holed up in an Orlando hotel. They should have been flying home Monday, but it now looks like a Tuesday departure. Grandson was 10 yesterday (Sat), so he's not likely to forget this holiday in a while Son, who's 40, was quite chuffed that he and the missus had a "kid-free" ride on the Aerosmith roller-coaster on Friday. Aerosmith? Roller-coaster? Not a combination I would have thought of... but hey, I'm an old geezer. What do I know? |
