It can be dangerous if when slowing down at a junction the engine cuts out only to restart when you try and nip out quick and the start up Is hesitant.

The engine should not cut out (CO2 saving) when in gear or clutch in or handbrake off or moving. It should fire up immediately you look like going to move off. Otherwise it is dangerous so must be faulty.

Yes it does on a Citroen with the EGS gearbox.

I now have a 2017 Passat with the DSG box. I dont like the stop start on this car. Like I stated previously, the Citroen was almost instant when starting, the Passat is not. The Passat is a far better car all round though and I love it. The DSG box is seamless too unlike the Citroens EGS. I liked the EGS but its not a patch on the DSG.
