Hmmmm, I don't believe that is what the human race is all about, I'd say it's about killing each other... I consider the USA a peaceful nation, yet since founding we've been at peace only 11 years!

If that’s the case why are we not still dressed in loin cloths and killing each other with spears.

Because guns & bombs are far more effective at killing than spears! The U.S. Has Been At War 222 Out of 239 Years. This morning, I discovered an interesting statistic, America Has Been At War 93% of the Time – 222 Out of 239 Years – Since 1776, i.e. the U.S. has only been at peace for less than 20 years total since its birth. Of the past 3,400 years, humans have been entirely at peace for 268 of them, or just 8 percent of recorded history. At the beginning of 2003 there were 30 wars going on around the world. These included conflicts in Afghanistan, Algeria, Burundi, China, Colombia, the Congo, India, Indonesia, Israel, Iraq, Liberia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, the Philippines, Russia, Somalia, Sudan, and Uganda. https://www.nytimes.com/2003/07/06/book ... t-war.html From the end of the Franco- Prussian War in 1871 until the outbreak of the Great War in 1914, the European states were at peace with one another. This was the longest period without war in European history until it was surpassed toward the end of the twentieth century." http://www.finfacts.ie/Irish_finance_ne ... -years-775

Looking this poll's result, and the ensuing thread content, we seem to have a rather skewed vocal minority posting.

@crapday:
I meant "skewed" only in the sense that the (proportion of) postings in no way reflect the number of poll votes cast.
Not sure why that is. And no offence meant.

Language is complicated and English is easy to interpret in different ways. Words have multiple meanings and nuances. Use of the word "skew" I took to being that you were responding from the point of view of one of the minority in the poll results. And your posts have been in the majority! That's what I took to mean by skewed.
