Thanks Dave, I received the chillies this morning. I nibbled half of a smaller one and they have a really nice, smoky flavour which will add a lot to grub. Yep, they're a little on the sharp side and I had my sinuses cleared, but my overall impression was one of woodsmoke-grill sort of thing which seemed to put the heat on a back burner... so to speak. Very tasty! 25p each seems a bit steep but having looked up prices you could pay up to £5 for a handful, or 10gm-ish! I smell the fiscal trading policy of bandwagon-jumping.

A friend of mine is starting up a spice blend business. He's given me some pre-production jars to test. Today I shall be testing an apple & mango curry blend aimed at kids plus a Naga blend aimed at serious chilli heads  . Wish me luck.

Toad in the hole with mushroom gravy and spud & carrot mash.
Got a newish oven and I haven't yet been able to get batter to cook properly in it, tonight it was still spongey-soggy in the middle while practically charred on top. I didn't have that problem with the old oven, guess I'll have to experiment more!
