Hi everyone, Has anyone a cheap Windoze machine for sale? I need one to do a mapping download to my Snooper Sat Nav. The specifications are as follows. Any sensible offer accepted. It will only be used for this purpose so it doesn't need to be a super duper jobby. Hardware Requirements The computer must have an Intel Pentium Class processor or equivalent, a minimum of 32MB of RAM, a monitor with 256 (8-bit) colours or greater, a CD ROM drive, 20MB of free disc space and a spare USB connection. Software Requirements The software will only operate on the following Windows based operating systems: Windows XP (32 bit) Windows Vista Windows 7 and, in addition, will only work with Internet Explorer 6 or Netscape Navigator 6 or above. NOTE: DB8500 Updater software does not support Windows 95, 98, Millennium, 2000 or Apple Macintosh operating systems. Windows XP (64 bit) systems is also not supported. |

Why not use (free) and just get a Windows licence to run in it? |

Thanks James, I'm downloading VB as we speak. I'll check it out after I have read the User Manual. I suppose it's like running Bootcamp or Parallels is it? |

Yep, exactly like running Parallels, the additional OS runs in a window. |

Hi everyone, just thought I'd update this post. James's solution to my problem (see above lead post) worked wonderfully. The installation of VB and Windoze 8.1 in it was painless. I now have a fully functioning copy on my Mac. Thanks for the heads up James, your a star. The only problem now is figuring out how Windows works!!!!!! It's a lot different to Mavericks that's for sure. Managed to install Avast antivirus software after an hour of fiddling about so have some protection aboard now. |
