As the title, I'm after a 184-pin PC-3200 (400MHz) DDR SDRAM chip to replace an Apple one that has failed in my vintage (according to Apple) iMac G5 that runs the CCTV here at work. I arrived in the office this morning to hear the fans running at full blast. A restart, SMC reset made no difference other than a message about "invalid memory access", so that rung some bells. Upon further investigation, all diagnostic LEDs on the motherboard showed as OK, so after many changes and swaps of the RAM chips, the original Apple one has failed, leaving only 512mb of RAM  However, I did spot some of the capacitors are weeping, so the motherboard is not going to last much longer (this motherboard is a FOC replacement by Apple some years back, as the original did the same). If anyone has a stick of 184-pin PC-3200 (400MHz) DDR SDRAM that they do not want, I would be pleased to take it off your hands for the cost of the postage, which is about all I can afford at the moment (don't ask).

I think the Mac is on its last legs - I arrived to blasting fans again this morning. SMC reset got it going again.
The writing is on the wall...
