I've got to the 3rd track and now I'm on familiar ground! TLWCDIWTEO is where I came in. I've never heard their first, though I certainly recognised Hamill-Lydon. You say 1st 2nd 3rd and 6th - wot, no Pawn Hearts?? They're still around, and surviving members were still touring up until a few years ago. Blue Plate - I thought their early albums were on Charisma? In fact I know they were as I went to see the famous Charisma 30p tour when they were top billing to Lindisfarne and Genesis.

Paw - magnificent! Wow oh wow Macbiter - Do you mean the last one, Meurglys III? Yes it is rather splendid I think but it's not everybody's cup of tea. Most people don't listen to this stuff - and the one before, When She Comes is quite a thing in my view - "Even now you need to be reminded that 'La Belle Dame' is without mercy!" Yeah, they were on Charisma, I don't who blue plate are, must be the latest distributor in the US. And they were mellow a lot actually. They weren't a fire and thunder band - they were a heavy band, and still are, and they had an amazing range and breadth of musical expression. A true prog rock band that nobody knows about. David Jaxon the multi-saxophone man left a while back though due to some differences I And then there's , Hammill's site for all things Hammill and Van der Graaf They were a truly great band in their heyday but not many people listened. That's a shame Actually I came across them quite by accident, a long time ago I had a reel to reel tape deck and I had a lot of recordings of albums - mostly other people's. I had on one of them that I got off somebody else but I never listened to it much at the time (70's). It was only a decade or so later that I actually found it and played it again - and thought wow! who the hell are they? I didn't know for ages which band it was, but when I figured it out and the Internet came along I looked them up and then listened to everything. Then I bought all the PH vinyl albums I could find at the local secondhand music shop near Bournemouth and then some of their CDs. Don't miss , or And later I came across one of Hammill's solo albums, and you should listen to it. I bought it as a CD when I found it and realised what it was. Or and "Mr. X (gets tense)" and "Faculty X" PS - and Anyway it's not really off topic, it's just the topic of the second page of macOS 10.14 MojaveIt's always ready to be dragged back to the title topic as needs be ..

Apparently John Lydon was quite a fan of VDGG and modelled his singing style on Hammill's hence my reference above.
Thanks for all the info and links. Just re-engaging with H to He ..

Somewhere between Mojave, iOS 12 and a new Watch, the ability to unlock my Mac with the Watch has gone. I've applied all the "fixes" as I did before with similar lack of success.
Your Mac was unable to communicate with your Apple Watch. Make sure your Apple Watch is unlocked, on your wrist and powered on.
I'm sure it will just sort itself with another update, like it did last time. This time, Safari 12 fixed Safari 11's inability to load BBC sites, which even the BBC couldn't explain. I've never had everything Apple work properly at the same time.

Apple has now made it impossible to download old versions of macOS in Mojave.

Blimming Apple! That's why I saved a copy of the installers for all the Mac OSs as far back as OS 10.1, 10.2, 10.3, Cheetah and Panther and the rather excellent Jaguar! Mind you I may never install most of them again.

That is an astute observation I think. Maybe that's the excuse they are using to themselves for doing it - but still there should be a legacy part of their website available for old free applications and OSs
But I guess they won't do that, which is a shame - they really should support Mac users as they used to do. The way the company is running now seems quite different from the Steve Jobs era.

Well that's a 24 hours I don't want again. Yesterday afternoon I decided to put Mojave on an external disk to have a play. So created a 500 GB partition ready for Mojave. I did a CCC of my High Sierra drive to it then updated it with Mojave. So far so good. Opened Mojarve on my MBP via start up disk. Awful lot of warning stuff came up and promptly one by one got rid. Mojave was running but I've never seen so many instances of "The dreaded beachball". It was running really slow and after about an hour got so fed up fighting it I decided enough was enough and headed back to HS. Now comes the problems.....
Tried to restart in HS but all I was getting was the prohibition sign. White circle with a line through it (I've never seen it before). Nothing I did would boot up. Tried Safe mode and every combination of key strokes, nothing. So it was bed time now. Powered down and bed. This morning it was the same story. Eventually I tried C+alt+shift again. This time with my CCC backup disk plugged in and the Mojave drive not. A flicker of life and a tiny amount of white writing top left of screen but so fast I couldn't read it, then a message "hit any key" and I got a boot of sorts. Great problem solved. No I got a "Panic Medic Mode" box (never seen that either), looks like a rogue kernel introduce some where. Long story short I eventually reinstalled my backup from CCC to my main drive after making sure the CCC backup was OK, it was. I can't tell you the relief I felt when it booted up cleanly and my MBP was back. I'm still plucking up courage to plug my drive in that has the Mojave on it!!!!!!!!!!!
